
Brazilian native joins SAFC after seven seasons in Portugal
SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 18, 2024) – San Antonio FC has signed defender Lucas Silva dos Santos, pending league and federation approval. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Lucas showcases proficiency in beating opponents off the dribble and effectively defending in one-on-one situations. His unwavering work ethic and admirable character were pivotal in securing his signing. We look forward to integrating Lucas into our team identity upon his arrival in San Antonio.”
Silva comes to the Alamo City after seven seasons in Portugal, playing primarily in the country’s second-division Liga Portugal 2. He began his professional career in 2017, spending three seasons with Académico Viseu. He then moved to GD Estoril Praia, winning the Liga 2 title with the squad in 2021. Over the course of his Liga 2 career, Silva appeared in 91 matches, racking up more than 6,000 minutes with six goals and five assists. The 26-year-old was most recently with Feirense CD, having joined the club ahead of the 2022-23 season.
Originally from Barra Mansa, Brazil, Silva spent his youth training with one of Brazil’s premier academies, Vasco de Gama.
San Antonio FC is currently preparing for training camp prior to kicking off the 2024 USL Championship season at home, hosting Loudoun United FC on Saturday, March 9.
