

San Antonio FC today announced that goalkeeper Carlos Mercado, as well as midfielder Leo Torres, forward Jose Gallegos and defender Liam Doyle are all under contract for the 2021 season.
Gallegos was a key member of the 2020 roster, appearing in all 16 matches while recording two goals, three assists and 23 chances created. The SAFC Pro Academy product was named a finalist for the league’s Young Player of the Year award following the season.
Torres made his league debut last season, playing in two matches while Doyle – who joined the club in September – started in the lone SAFC playoff match. Mercado did not make an appearance for SAFC in 2020, however he was named in 11 match-day squads including the final 10.
In addition, the club continues to be in discussions with numerous players from the 2020 roster about a return to the team in 2021.
SAFC will continue to prepare for the 2021 season after finishing 10-3-3 and earning the club’s second playoff berth in team history in 2020.
