San Antonio FC (5-0-3) beat OKC Energy FC (1-4-3) 4-0 at Toyota Field on Wednesday night. Goals from Luis Solignac, PC, Mitchell Taintor and Gonzalo Di Renzo earned the Alamo City club its biggest win of the season to remain unbeaten in 2020.
“It was a strong showing from start to finish, said SAFC Head Coach Alen Marcina. “I am incredibly proud of the guys. We put forth two objectives tonight, to apply high intensity in attack and when we press, and we felt like the guys executed that well.”
SAFC opened the scoring early after Solignac found the end of a rebound and tapped the ball into an open net in the third minute of the match for the 1-0 lead. The hosts added their second of the night in the 14th minute after a handball in the visitors’ box resulted in a penalty kick, which midfielder PC buried to double the lead and tally his first goal for the club en route to an SWBC Man of the Match performance.
The Alamo City club added their third goal of the night after Taintor found the end of a set piece from midfielder Cristian Parano and headed it past goalkeeper CJ Cochran, marking the defender’s first goal for the club as well.
