
San Antonio FC (10-12-8) will host Fresno FC (16-5-8) at Toyota Field on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. as the club celebrates Hispanic Heritage Night, presented by Toyota.
SAFC heads into the match after narrowly falling 3-4 to Tulsa Roughnecks FC on the road despite a brace from midfielder Rafa Castillo and a goal from midfielder Walter Restrepo. The Alamo City will return to Toyota Field in search of three points as the team continues to battle for a playoff position.
Fresno FC heads into the match in second place in the Western Conference standings, but the Foxes will look to secure a victory and add to their two-game winning streak as they look to lock in homefield advantage for the USL Championship Playoffs.
SAFC is 1-1-1 all-time against Fresno, most recently falling to the club at Chukchansi Park on June 21. The Alamo City club earned a 2-1 win over the Foxes in their only matchup at Toyota Field on May 5, 2018. With a win, SAFC could jump as far as eighth place in the standings pending results around the league.
The match will mark Hispanic Heritage Night, presented by Toyota. SAFC will offer a $5 margarita on the rocks drink special and host an ‘Extra Time’ postgame party where fans can enjoy $1 beer and sodas courtesy of Bud Light as well as mariachi and baile folklorico performances. Fans can purchase a ticket + serape-designed scarf starting at just $20 online, while the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive serape-inspired sunglasses courtesy of Toyota.
Following the match, SAFC will embark on two consecutive away trips at Las Vegas Lights FC on Oct. 5 and Portland Timbers 2 on Oct. 11 before returning to Toyota Field as the club hosts Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in their final match of the 2019 regular season.
