Bradford Jamieson IV arrived in San Antonio last week and began preparing to integrate into the San Antonio FC squad after the club acquired him on loan from the LA Galaxy. The 22-year-old is approaching the upcoming season with SAFC the way he approaches everything – with a positive attitude and a dedication to hard work.
This is the first time Jamieson IV will play for a club outside of LA, professionally, but he is excited to wear the SAFC colors and represent the Alamo City.
“This is my first loan spell, but I have had teammates that have gone on loan so I have learned how it works,” says Jamieson IV. “As far as I am concerned, I am a San Antonio FC player right now, so what’s most important to me is how San Antonio performs every day.”
Being his first time with a club outside of the Galaxy organization, Jamieson is getting to know his teammates, his coaches and the way the club conducts itself on and off the field. He has a good relationship with midfielder Billy Forbes which has helped him in his early days, but as he says it – it only takes a few days to get to know the team, and he can already imagine how it will be when they start clicking on the field.

As he continues to work up to full fitness with the SAFC technical staff, Jamieson is already buying into the on-field philosophy that San Antonio coach Darren Powell and his staff are implementing within the squad. Jamieson IV already feels on the same page as the team.
“The philosophy on the field is a change of pace in a very positive way,” said Jamieson. “The things that are highlighted throughout the team’s agenda are things that align well with my personal goals and things I want to highlight in my personal game. I’m very appreciative of the work everyone is putting in all together.”
Off the field, the first impressions are continuing to roll in for the Galaxy academy product as he starts to explore San Antonio. He is a foodie, mentioning that the most he has really seen of the city so far are the restaurants.
He also notes the facilities occupied by San Antonio FC in Toyota Field in STAR Soccer Complex.
“I like the training ground a lot,” he says. “The scenery is nice, and it allows you to just focus on the football.”
Overall, Jamieson is looking to come into the team and contribute in any way he can. With the 2019 USL Championship season and the club’s home opener on March 9 quickly approaching, the forward is eager to continue training and working his way onto the field. As previously stated, his goals align well with the club’s.
“All I want to do is contribute,” said Jamieson. “Making sure I put some in the net and making sure other guys are set up to put something in the net. And at the end of the day, win a trophy or two.”
