San Antonio FC midfielder Ethan Bryant was named to the USL Team of the Week, the league announced today. Bryant scored his first professional goal for the club in the 3-1 win over Seattle Sounders FC 2 last Saturday as San Antonio continues its push for a USL postseason berth.
With the goal, Bryant became the youngest goalscorer in San Antonio FC history at 17 years, one month and nine days, surpassing former midfielder Devin Vega. The San Antonio native also recorded three tackles, one interception and one key pass in the club’s ninth home win of the 2018 USL season.
The inclusion marks the first for Bryant in his rookie season, and the first for a San Antonio FC player since Cyprian Hedrick was named to the Team of the Week following the club’s 3-2 win over Phoenix Rising FC on September 8. So far in 2018, Bryant has made eight appearances, tallying 651 minutes while recording one goal, one assist and a 75 percent passing accuracy.
