San Antonio FC (15-4-11) tied Tampa Bay Rowdies (13-7-11) 1-1 at Toyota Field on Saturday night in front of 7,043 fans. With tonight’s attendance, the club surpassed 100,000 fans in total USL attendance this season.
“There were a lot of good performances from our players tonight,” SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell said. “Yet again, this group showed their character to keep fighting, and as a coach that’s something to be proud of. They keep playing until the final whistle, and it was good to see Ever Guzman get his first goal for us.”
The Rowdies opened the scoring in the 69th minute when midfielder Walter Restrepo found Georgi Hristov at the top of the box following a corner. Hrivstov then buried a shot past goalkeeper Diego Restrepo for the 1-0 lead.
SAFC then found the equalizer in the final moments of the match when forward Ever Guzman finished a low cross from midfielder Billy Forbes from point-blank range. The goal marked Guzman’s first for the club in his seventh appearance for the Silver and Black. Guzman joined the club in August.
The assist also marked Forbes’ seventh of the season, tying midfielder Carlos Alvarez’s tally for the club’s all-time lead. The Turks and Caicos native has scored nine goals this season and is tied with midfielder Rafa Castillo for the all-time lead in goals scored as well.

The Alamo City club will then host RGV FC on Saturday, Oct. 14 in the final match of the USL regular season, presented by Augie’s Smoke House.
