By earning three points against OCSC, the Alamo City club’s point tally would increase to 52 points in the standings, while reducing Orange County’s maximum possible reach to 51 points on the season, effectively ensuring SAFC a top-eight finish in the standings.
Orange County SC will aim to salvage their USL playoff hopes with a win at home after earning an impressive 2-1 victory against Swope Park Rangers on Saturday. The club is currently in 10th place in the standings with just 25 matches played, and could pass OKC Energy FC and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and make its way into the top eight in the standings with a win against the Silver and Black.
Should he play, SAFC captain Michael Reed may play an important role in the club’s attack on Wednesday should he continue building on his recent form. The New Mexico native has tallied a goal and an assist in the team’s previous two matches, both of which have come in the dying minutes of the match to earn a win and a draw, respectively. Reed has now recorded two goals and two assists on the season, and set up the play that resulted in a Real Monarchs own goal en route to the team’s win on September 2.
