
San Antonio FC (6-0-1) will host Sacramento Republic FC (3-3-1) at Toyota Field on Saturday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. The match will be the first time Sacramento visits the Alamo City and the second matchup overall between the two clubs.

San Antonio FC returns home with their undefeated streak intact after earning nine points over the course of seven days in the club’s road trip through Cascadia. SAFC sits at the top of the western conference with 19 points, leading second-place Real Monarchs SLC by four points. The Silver and Black leads the USL in goals scored (18), goal differential (+14), and is one of just two undefeated teams in the league.
“As a team, we’re making each other better every day,” SAFC Midfielder Devin Vega said. “We have a lot of experienced guys and also young guys, and together we’re becoming a very strong team. We’re in first place right now and we’re happy, but we’re never satisfied.”
Sacramento Republic will aim to earn their first win after earning a draw and three losses in their last four matches. The club is currently ranked third in the Western Conference standings with 10 points, and has scored eight goals while conceding six so far this season. Sacramento currently leads the league in shots taken (96), but ranks 20th in conversion rate.
SAFC currently leads the USL in conversion rate (39) after scoring 18 goals out of 58 total shots. Midfielder Billy Forbes leads the team and is tied for the USL lead in goals scored (six), while he and midfielder Cesar Elizondo are tied in second for most assists in the league (three). Elizondo has also tallied an impressive four goals this season, while nine different players have gotten their name on the scoresheet for the Silver and Black.
The match will mark the second encounter between the two clubs after a late Sacramento penalty resulted in a 1-1 draw between the two on August 6, 2016 in Sacramento, while also marking the first time the California club visits Toyota Field.
