
San Antonio FC will enter its second season in club history this weekend. The SAFC technical staff has made several changes to the roster, bringing in 13 new players to the Alamo City. Take a look at some numbers to see what the new additions bring to our club.
1- Midfielder Kris Tyrpak joins SAFC after winning the Western Conference Championship with Swope Park Rangers in 2016.
2- Two players on the roster will begin their professional career in their home city with the Silver and Black: Devin Vega and Maxi Rodriguez.
4- Four of the new SAFC additions played for USL Western Conference opposition in 2016 (Akwafei Ajeakwa, Orange County Blues FC; Kris Tyrpak, Swope Park Rangers; Cyprian Hedrick, Oklahoma City Energy FC; and Sebastien Ibeagha, Rio Grande Valley FC).
7- Combined, the new players have featured for clubs in six different countries. (Colombia, Denmark, Iceland, Venezuela, Brazil, Bolivia, United States)
8- Eight of the 13 new players bring first-division experience to San Antonio FC after playing in the top flight either domestically or abroad. (Juan Nino, Categoria Primera A; Ben Newnam, MLS; Sebastien Ibeagha, MLS and Danish Superliga; Kris Tyrpak, MLS; Diego Restrepo, Venezuela Primera Division; Aly Alberto Hassan, Liga de Futbol Profesional Boliviano; Pecka, MLS and Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A; Cyprian Hedrick, MLS)
19- In the past three seasons, midfielder Billy Forbes collected 19 assists, leading the NASL in that category in 2014.
20- In 2016, the SAFC newcomers tallied 20 goals combined. Kris Tyrpak led the group with seven goals.
98- SAFC defender Cyprian Hedrick has made 98 USL appearances and is likely to make his 100th league appearance for the Silver and Black.
