San Antonio FC (4-8-5) tied El Paso Locomotive FC (7-3-6) 0-0 at Toyota Field on Wednesday night. A strong defensive performance salvaged a point at home for the Alamo City club despite going down a man in the second half.

“I’m extremely proud and told my players thank you for giving every ounce of energy to the final whistle to earn the point,” SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell said. “We want to earn points every week and felt like tonight we had more points on the table for us, but unfortunately we played with 10 men and you can’t fault our guys for that. We’re proud of them for being resilient, tough, and creating chances against a very good El Paso team who are very well coached.”

SAFC saw their best chance of the match in the 17th minute after forward Bradford Jamieson IV was taken down in the visitors’ box. Midfielder Jack Barmby stepped up to take the penalty, but goalkeeper Logan Ketterer made the save to keep it level.

El Paso had a chance to take the lead a few minutes later, but forward Jerome Kiessewetter was denied by the woodwork.

El Paso will look to get back to winning ways after their three-game winning streak was snapped at the hands of Las Vegas Lights FC on Saturday. The club is currently in third place in the Western Conference standings and has yet to lose a match when playing on the road so far in their inaugural campaign.

“It’s another opportunity to prove who we are,” SAFC midfielder Kai Greene said. “We have had a good run here at home and we know El Paso is a good team in this league. We have to respect them but also play our game. We need to go at them just like we go after every team when we play at home. When we really play our style and play how we need to there should be no problems.”

San Antonio FC (4-8-4) fell to Fresno FC (6-2-7) at Chukchansi Park on Friday night. Goals from forward Bradford Jamieson IV and midfielder Cristian Parano along with a standout performance from goalkeeper Matthew Cardone were not enough to salvage points on the road for the Alamo City club.

“The result is really disappointing for everybody in our locker room,” SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell said. “The guys were committed and worked extremely hard until the final whistle. It’s always difficult to come away from home into a hostile environment, which presents challenges that are there for all to see. We came into the locker room knowing we had to do better, but at certain moments of the game things become unpredictable. Now we need to make sure we refocus and get ready for Wednesday night.”

Fresno opened the scoring early in the second half when midfielder Jemal Johnson buried a shot past Cardone from long distance to give the hosts the lead. SAFC answered just two minutes later after midfielder Jose Gallegos found Jamieson IV near the top of the box, from where the striker dribbled out of pressure and placed a shot near-post for the equalizer. The goal marked Jamieson IV’s fourth of the season, while the assist marked Gallegos’ first for the club.

The Foxes added their second of the night after a foul was called inside the SAFC box, after which Johnson converted from the penalty spot to give the hosts the 1-2 lead. Just six minutes later, Fresno widened the gap again with a goal from forward Jaime Chavez.

San Antonio FC and Silver & Black Give Back, the official nonprofit of Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SBGB) today announced the launch of a new youth soccer program, the SAFC Micro League. The league will expand Silver & Black Give Back’s youth sports programs to include soccer for children around the city and in deserving communities. Registration is available now at https://www.sanantoniofc.com/microleague.

The SAFC Micro League will provide recreational and instructional soccer to San Antonio’s youth while also promoting leadership, responsibility, teamwork and making positive choices. San Antonio FC and Silver & Black Give Back are committed to offering a chance for San Antonio’s youth to play and learn the game of soccer.

Registration costs will be $100, and Silver & Black Give Back will sponsor eligible children from local nonprofits across the city. The league will be offered for boys and girls ages 4-7 and each league cycle will run for a six-week period with practices and games taking place on Saturday mornings at STAR Soccer Complex.

“We are excited to collaborate with SBGB in launching the SAFC Micro League,” said SAFC Managing Director Tim Holt. “This new instructional program enables us to introduce the beautiful game to local children within an environment that prioritizes having fun and staying active.”

Proceeds from the SAFC Micro League will go towards developing homegrown soccer players through the SAFC Pro Academy. The SAFC Pro Academy is a fully-funded program dedicated to identifying and training players in the San Antonio area to provide a pathway to become a player for the SAFC first team, national teams, or college soccer. The Academy currently fields five age group teams that compete in the Development Academy, the highest tier of youth soccer in the United States.

San Antonio FC and Silver & Black Give Back, the official nonprofit of Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SBGB) today announced the launch of a new youth soccer program, the SAFC Micro League. The league will expand Silver & Black Give Back’s youth sports programs to include soccer for children around the city and in deserving communities. Registration is available now at https://www.sanantoniofc.com/microleague.

The SAFC Micro League will provide recreational and instructional soccer to San Antonio’s youth while also promoting leadership, responsibility, teamwork and making positive choices. San Antonio FC and Silver & Black Give Back are committed to offering a chance for San Antonio’s youth to play and learn the game of soccer.

Registration costs will be $100, and Silver & Black Give Back will sponsor eligible children from local nonprofits across the city. The league will be offered for boys and girls ages 4-7 and each league cycle will run for a six-week period with practices and games taking place on Saturday mornings at STAR Soccer Complex.

“We are excited to collaborate with SBGB in launching the SAFC Micro League,” said SAFC Managing Director Tim Holt. “This new instructional program enables us to introduce the beautiful game to local children within an environment that prioritizes having fun and staying active.”

Proceeds from the SAFC Micro League will go towards developing homegrown soccer players through the SAFC Pro Academy. The SAFC Pro Academy is a fully-funded program dedicated to identifying and training players in the San Antonio area to provide a pathway to become a player for the SAFC first team, national teams, or college soccer. The Academy currently fields five age group teams that compete in the Development Academy, the highest tier of youth soccer in the United States.
