
San Antonio FC (8-9-7) will host New Mexico United (8-6-10) at Toyota Field on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 7:30 p.m. The match marks the first time the USL expansion side visits the Alamo City as SAFC looks to earn its first win against the club.
San Antonio FC is coming off a 2-2 draw against rivals RGV FC. Goals from Jack Barmby and Cristian Parano helped SAFC continue to pick up valuable points. Since June 8, San Antonio has recorded the fifth-highest number of points in the Western Conference (19).
Despite the draw, the Alamo City club will look to continue building on recent performances after scoring 11 goals in their last four outings. SAFC has only recorded two losses at Toyota Field this season and will look to return to the win column at home.
New Mexico will look to earn their first win since July 31. The club has posted a 0-1-2 record in their last three matches and currently find themselves in seventh place in the Western Conference standings. SAFC previously fell to New Mexico United 0-3 on the road on May 5, however the club has posted a 4-1-2 clip and a +9 goal differential when facing opponents for the second time this season.
SAFC will embark on a two-game road trip following the match against New Mexico and will look to capitalize on points at home.
Saturday’s match will include a postgame concert by local Selena tribute band Bidi Bidi Banda, during which fans can enjoy $1 beer and sodas courtesy of Bud Light.
