
Lucas Silva and Pablo Sisniega receive first weekly honors, Alen Marcina named Coach of the Week
SAN ANTONIO (Mar. 26, 2024) – San Antonio FC defender Lucas Silva and goalkeeper Pablo Sisniega have been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week, while Head Coach Alen Marcina was named Coach of the Week following Saturday’s 2-0 win against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.
Lucas Silva earns his first Team of the Week call-up after scoring the opening goal in the win, his second of the season. The Brazil native excelled on both sides of the ball, also tallying four interceptions and five clearances while maintaining a 79% passing accuracy.
Pablo Sisniega made two saves to secure the team’s first shutout of the season. The 28-year-old is tied for third-most saves in the league with 11 total this year.
Silva and Sisniega become the second and third San Antonio players to earn Team of the Week honors this season, along with Jorge Hernandez. Marcina earns his first Coach of the Week award after leading the team to its first win of the year in a match that saw SAFC outshoot Colorado Springs 18-11.
SAFC returns to action Saturday, hosting Monterey Bay F.C, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. CT from Toyota Field. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+.
