SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 26, 2022) – San Antonio FC fell to FC Tulsa this afternoon by a score of 0-1 at Toyota Field.
Through the scoreless first 30 minutes of play, SAFC controlled the game, working through the midfield and creating runs for forwards Santiago Patino and Deshane Beckford.
In the final 15 minutes of the first half, both sides had multiple scoring opportunities go unconverted to enter halftime scoreless. With just over five minutes to go in the half, SAFC earned four corner kicks in quick succession but was unable to convert.
Tulsa broke through first with a goal in the 63rd minute, making it 1-0. Despite a late push by SAFC, the score would hold until the final whistle.
Additionally, nine SAFC Pro Academy players appeared for the club in the second half.
SAFC’s final preseason friendly will be next weekend against El Paso Locomotive FC in a closed-door match. San Antonio will open the season at home on March 12 against Detroit City FC, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. at Toyota Field. Tickets for the home opener are available online at SanAntonioFC.com.
