Following just its second loss of the season last weekend, San Antonio FC (11-2-8) will travel to face OKC Energy FC (8-9-5) at Taft Stadium on Saturday night in the third and final matchup between the two clubs in the USL regular season.
SAFC will look to earn its first win against the Energy after earning two draws in their two encounters this season, as well as recording two draws and one loss during the Alamo City club’s 2016 inaugural campaign.
The Silver and Black will aim to return to winning form after earning a loss and a draw in their past two encounters. Despite those results, however, the team remains in second place in the West with 41 points, conceding the fewest goals in the USL (13).
Midfielder Billy Forbes continues to lead the attack for the Alamo City club, leading the team in goals scored with seven so far this season. Forbes also leads the club in shots (37), assists (five), and chances created (24). On the defensive end, Sebastien Ibeagha continues to lead the league in clearances (139).
OKC will aim to earn its ninth win of the season against SAFC after falling 1-2 against local rivals Tulsa Roughnecks FC. The Energy is currently in ninth place in the Western Conference standings, just one spot out of playoff contention, which they could achieve with a win on Saturday.
San Antonio FC could feature new faces against OKC after adding midfielders Omar Gordon and Connor Presley to the roster, joining forwards Mike Seth and Ever Guzman as their newest signings.
Following the match in Oklahoma City, SAFC will host two matches in one week at Toyota Field, facing Whitecaps FC 2 for the first and only time this season on Wednesday, and then hosting Portland Timbers 2 just three days later.
