San Antonio FC will travel to Utah to face Real Monarchs SLC at Rio Tinto Stadium on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 9 p.m. central time. The match will be the first and only time the two clubs face each other this season as both continue their push for a Western Conference playoff position.
Coverage of the match will be available at ESPN3.com and the USL Match Center.
SAFC will aim to get back in form after falling 1-3 to Saint Louis FC last weekend. The match was the first time the team has suffered a loss by a margin larger than one goal. SAFC now sits in ninth place in the league standings, and are level on points with Sounders FC 2.
Real Monarchs will head into the match after falling 0-2 to Orange County Blues at home. The team currently trails San Antonio by two points in the standings, and has scored 26 goals and conceded 35 so far this season, while SAFC has scored 34 and conceded 31.
A win could propel San Antonio back into eighth place and into the last playoff spot in the conference. The match will be the sixth and last midweek match for the club, which is currently 2-1-2 in their previous weekday encounters.
San Antonio FC will then return to Toyota Field on Sept. 17 to host their final home match of the regular season against Tulsa Roughnecks FC before traveling to Rio Grande Valley for the final regular season match of their inaugural campaign.
