San Antonio FC midfielder Mark O’Ojong has been named to the USL Team of the Week, the league announced today. O’Ojong started at right back and scored the game-winning goal against the Tulsa Roughnecks last Saturday.
O’Ojong was named the SWBC Man of the Match in his first appearance for the club since Aug. 12 at Reno 1868 FC. Aside from scoring the opening and eventual game-winning goal in the 70th minute against Tulsa, O’Ojong also led SAFC with five tackles, nine clearances and three interceptions over his 90 minutes in defense. Overall this season, the Cameroon native has appeared in 11 matches, playing in 609 minutes while scoring two goals.
The honor marks the first Team of the Week honor for O’Ojong this season.
