Young playmaker posted six goals and three assists in 2026
SAN ANTONIO (Aug. 7, 2026) – San Antonio FC has signed midfielder Dmitrii Erofeev to a multi-year contract extension, pending league and federation approval. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Dmitrii came to San Antonio as an exciting young player with a high ceiling and tremendous potential,” said SAFC Sporting Director Marco Ferruzzi. “We knew there would be an adjustment period, but from day one, he has approached every challenge with determination and a real commitment to improving every day. His growth has been reflected in his performances and the role he’s earned within the team this season, and although he’s experienced a setback, our confidence in his development has never changed. As a club, we’re excited to continue investing in his future and remain committed to providing our players every opportunity to perform at a high level and compete to win.”
Now in his second season with the Alamo City club, Erofeev became a fixture in the lineup as he featured for San Antonio in every match before sustaining a knee injury in July. The 20-year-old was nominated for the USL Championship’s Midseason Young Player of the Year award following a breakout first half of the season that saw him tally a team-high six goals and three assists for SAFC across all competitions.
Prior to joining SAFC, Erofeev developed through the FC Dynamo Moscow academy, scoring 15 goals and adding seven assists between the club’s U16 and U19 sides. He later earned promotion to Dynamo Moscow II, registering three goals and five assists in 17 appearances while helping the club capture the 2023-24 Russian Second League championship and earn promotion to the second division.
Erofeev has represented Russia internationally at the U15 and U16 levels.
San Antonio FC travels to face Louisville City FC this Saturday, Aug. 8. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. CT, and the match will be broadcast on ESPN+. The 2026 season is presented by Toyota.
