Juan Agudelo and Jorge Hernandez earn weekly awards
SAN ANTONIO (July 9, 2024) – San Antonio FC forward Juan Agudelo and midfielder Jorge Hernadez have earned spots on the USL Championship Team of the Week bench following the team’s 2-1 win over Phoenix Rising Saturday.
Agudelo earns his second straight Team of the Week appearance after scoring a brace for the second consecutive match. San Antonio’s leading scorer this year, Agudelo added four shots while scoring the team’s opening and game-winning goals.
Hernandez added his seventh assist of the year Saturday, tying both the league-high this season and San Antonio’s all-time record. The midfielder earned Agudelo’s game-winning penalty kick, while also creating two chances and eight recoveries. Hernandez leads SAFC with six Team of the Week selections.
The pair of awards bring San Antonio’s total to 13 this season.
SAFC returns home to host Costa Rican champions Deportivo Saprissa for an international friendly Saturday, July 13 at Toyota Field, with kickoff slated for 8:00 p.m. CT. This season is presented by Toyota.
