Jorge Hernandez and Bura receive weekly awards
SAN ANTONIO (May 7, 2024) – San Antonio FC midfielders Jorge Hernandez and Bura have been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week following the team’s 2-2 draw against Oakland Roots SC Saturday.
Hernandez added his league-high fifth assist in the draw, also creating two chances and completing 20 of 23 passes. The midfielder posted two interceptions and six recoveries on the defensive end. The 23-year-old is just two assists away from tying the San Antonio’s all-time record in his second season with the club.
Bura receives his first nod of the year after assisting Juan Agudelo’s opening goal in the match. The Guinea-Bissau native also tallied three clearances and two tackles while maintaining a 92% passing accuracy.
Bura’s selection and Hernandez’s fourth Team of the Week appearance bring SAFC’s total to nine this season.
The duo return to action Wednesday as the team travels to face Indy Eleven in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 32. The match is set to kick off at 6:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcast online. This season is presented by Toyota.
