Midfielder played in 19 matches with Nashville SC in 2023
SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 23, 2024) – San Antonio FC has signed midfielder Luke Haakenson, pending league and federation approval. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Originally from Maple Grove, Minnesota, Haakenson was drafted 80th overall by Nashville SC in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft. In 67 total appearances with Nashville, he tallied four goals and four assists, including a goal against Liga MX’s Toluca during the team’s run to a 2023 Leagues Cup runner-up finish. The Creighton University product also brings prior USL Championship experience, notching three goals and three assists in 16 matches while on loan in 2020 with previous member Charlotte Independence.
Prior to joining the professional ranks, Haakenson spent time with USL League Two sides Des Moines Menace and Chicago United FC, as well as former National Premier Soccer League side Minneapolis City SC. While at Creighton, he made 56 starts, chalking up 14 goals and 11 assists in four seasons.
San Antonio FC is currently preparing for training camp prior to kicking off the 2024 USL Championship season at home, hosting Loudoun United FC on Saturday, March 9.
