Head Coach Alen Marcina
(On the loss…)
“Obviously disappointed in the end result. The guys fought, to the very end. Unfortunately, fell short to a very good Sacramento team and that’s it.”
(On moving forward…)
“For me personally, and what I shared with the team was to remember this moment. And how much it hurts. And that should be the motivation every single day. To give more, to push more, to do whatever it takes to never experience this feeling again.”
(On the season…)
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to coach these guys. And its difficult in the moment but I’ve met a lot of great people, a lot of great experiences, still achieved a lot of things, but just fell short of repeating as champions.”
Midfielder Jacori Hayes
(On the loss…)
“It was a rough way to go out. Based on how we played in the first half I thought we had it in the bag, I thought we were all over them and then just fell a little short in the second half. And yeah just take a couple weeks to decompose and reflect on the season as a whole. Not just this game but the whole season.”
(On the season… )
“Since it’s still so fresh it’s all I’m going to be thinking about, after a couple days I think I’ll just reflect on the good times with the guys in the locker room, just reflect on all the good times that we had, and individually just look at my season as a whole and what I can do to stay sharp during this offseason to get ready for next year. But in terms of the team, I love these guys and we created a lot of great memories with them and I’ll cherish that forever.”
