Forward has Appeared in 20 MLS Matches over Last Two Seasons
SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 12, 2022) – San Antonio FC has signed Kimarni Smith, pending league and federation approval, the team announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Smith spent 2021 and 2022 with D.C. United of MLS, as well as on loan with Loudoun United FC, D.C.’s USL Championship affiliate.

He is an elite athlete who is a two-way player, positionally versatile, excellent in one-versus-one situations and committed to aggressive pressing actions,” said head coach Alen Marcina. “We look forward to seeing Kimarni’s contributions to the team as we collectively strive to defend our title.”
Smith appeared in 17 matches with D.C. last season, scoring once and assisting three times in just 347 minutes played. In 12 matches, 11 starts, on loan with Loudoun, the 24 year old scored twice.
Smith was drafted by D.C. fourth overall in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft out of Clemson. In his collegiate career, the native of Nottingham scored 26 goals to go along with 11 assists.
