San Antonio FC (5-5-6) will host first-place Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 (9-3-5) at Toyota Field on Saturday, July 16 at 7:30 p.m. The match will be the first and only time the two clubs face off this season, and the second of three consecutive home matches for the hosts.
Coverage of the match will be available through FOX Sports Southwest, as well as www.sanantoniofc.com and the USL Match Center.
SAFC will aim to build on their five-game unbeaten streak with a win against the Western Conference leaders. The Alamo City club tied OKC Energy FC 0-0 last weekend after recording three consecutive wins prior to that.
Vancouver will play their second consecutive match in Texas after falling 0-4 to Rio Grande Valley FC on Wednesday, recording their largest margin in a loss this season. The Whitecaps have recorded 30 goals and conceded 25 so far this season.
San Antonio could position itself in a playoff spot in the league standings with a win this weekend. The club currently sits in 11th place with 21 points, and trails four clubs within a three-point range.
The hosts will be without regular goalkeeper and captain Josh Ford after the captain picked up a three-game suspension for his involvement in a scuffle during the match against OKC Energy FC last weekend.
