San Antonio FC has officially passed the midpoint of the season. As the team heads into the second half of its inaugural campaign, check out some numbers to reflect on the club’s accomplishments in its early history.
1- San Antonio FC is ranked first in the Western Conference in shots on goal (86). Midfielder Carlos Alvarez leads the team in the same category with 16.
3- With last weekend’s victory against Tulsa Roughnecks FC, San Antonio has now recorded three consecutive wins for the first time in franchise history. Their previous two wins came against Colorado Springs on June 18 and Orange County Blues on June 23.
5- All SAFC wins this season have come when the club scored the first goal of the match. Alternatively, the club has yet to record a win when the opposition scores the first goal of the match.
7- Seven San Antonio FC players have earned USL Team of the Week honors (Jason Johnson, Rafa Castillo, Sam McBride, Milton Palacios, Stephen McCarthy, Jacques Francois, Michael Reed). In addition, two players have earned Team of the Week Bench honors (Danny Garcia, Fejiro Okiomah).
