
SAN ANTONIO (Mar. 18, 2024) – San Antonio FC has transferred forward Santiago Patiño to Vietnamese first-division side Ho Chi Minh City in exchange for an undisclosed fee, pending league and federation approval. Per team policy, terms of the transfer were not made public.

Patiño makes the move to the five-time Vietnamese champions after scoring 26 goals in 48 total matches for San Antonio from 2021-23 as the club’s all-time leading scorer. The 2022 USL Championship Final MVP, Patiño was instrumental in securing SAFC’s first title, netting a brace in the final. He returned to San Antonio in August 2023, posting seven goals in 1,157 minutes of play.
San Antonio FC returns to Toyota Field to host Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC Saturday, March 23. The match is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN+. The 2024 season is presented by Toyota.
