
It was a busy offseason for San Antonio FC as they began to piece together the roster for the upcoming 2019 USL Championship season. Darren Powell and his technical staff along with Managing Director Tim Holt set out to piece together a squad that could compete this year, along with a squad that had good character and a desire to represent the city by putting on the SAFC shirt with pride.
As each of the 14 new players were announced over the course of offseason and early stages of preseason, they shared their initial thoughts on joining the club and their first impressions of the organization, teammates and staff. Words that stuck out were happy, excited, thankful and thrilled while descriptions of the club ranged from great to fantastic to ambitious.

Defender Ebenezer Ackon – “This is a great feeling. Ever since I got to the United States, I’ve dreamed of completing my education and becoming a professional soccer player, so being here is a dream come true. I’m starting my pro career here and I think San Antonio FC is the best place for me to be.”

Goalkeeper Jonathan Viscosi – “I’ve had some good conversations with Darren [Powell] and Juan [Lamadrid] about the vision of the club and the direction in which its heading. I’m really excited to come in and be a part of that vision.
