Midfield duo scored San Antonio’s second and third goals against Orange County
SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 23, 2025) – San Antonio FC midfielders Jorge Hernandez and Nicky Hernandez have been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week after the squad’s 3-1 victory over Orange County SC.
Jorge Hernandez earns his team-leading fifth Team of the Week selection and back-to-back appearance after tallying his 11th goal and fourth assist of the campaign against Orange County. He added five chances created in the match, now sitting at third in the league with a total of 48 for the season. The 24-year-old has contributed to five of San Antonio’s eight goals in the last two matches.
Nicky Hernandez gets his first call to the Team of the Week bench, netting the game-winning goal for his first score of the season. In his 77 minutes on the pitch, the Dallas native also put two shots on target and completed 14 of 19 passes.
SAFC stands at 19 total Team of the Week awards through Week 29, with 13 different players earning a spot.
San Antonio FC is back at home this Saturday, Sept. 27 to host Birmingham Legion FC. Kickoff from Toyota Field is set for 7:30 p.m. CT, and the match will be broadcast on FanDuel Sports Network and ESPN+. The 10th anniversary season is presented by Toyota.
