Thomson Will Serve the Club in an Advisory Capacity for Remainder of 2018 Season

San Antonio FC Assistant Coach and High Performance Director Andy Thomson has left the full-time SAFC technical staff to take another opportunity within soccer, the club announced today. Thomson will continue serve the club in an advisory capacity for the remainder of the 2018 USL season.

“The club would like to thank Andy for his service, dedication and passion over the course of the last few seasons, “said SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell. “We wish him well in his new opportunity and are pleased he will continue to advise the club.”

Thomson originally joined the club prior to the start of its inaugural season in 2016. During his time in San Antonio, SAFC compiled a 36-23-26 regular season record and earned its first playoff berth during the 2017 USL season. A native of Scotland, Thomson joined SAFC from Georgia where he served as Director of High Performance with Georgia United UFA working in the US Soccer Development Academy.
