Atletico de San Luis will visit Toyota Field for the first time after attaining promotion to the Mexican first division after winning the Ascenso 2019 title with a victory over rivals Dorados de Sinaloa on May 5, 2019. Founded in 2013 following the relocation of San Luis Potosi’s original professional club, San Luis F.C., Atletico de San Luis is currently in 10th place in the Liga MX standings in its first season in the Mexican top flight.
An 8,000-seat stadium, Toyota Field opened in 2013 and has been the home of the USL Championship club San Antonio FC since the spring of 2016. The facility was acquired in 2015 by the City of San Antonio and Bexar County, in partnership with Spurs Sports & Entertainment who now control all operations of the facility along with the neighboring STAR Soccer Complex.
