Check Out Some Numbers Behind the Club's Undefeated Streak

San Antonio FC is off to a hot start in 2017. The Alamo City club remains undefeated in their second-ever campaign, and is proving to be a threat both offensively and defensively to their opposition. Take a look at some numbers to break down the club’s performance so far this season.

1- San Antonio FC is currently in first place in the Western Conference standings with 10 points, leading by one point ahead of Real Monarchs SLC, Sacramento Republic FC, and Swope Park Rangers.

2- SAFC (3-0-1) is one of just two teams in the Western Conference who remain undefeated this season, along with Swope Park Rangers (3-0-0).

3- The Silver and Black have recorded three shutouts so far this season, and are currently tied for most shutouts in the USL along with Tampa Bay Rowdies. In addition, goalkeeper Matt Cardone is close to matching his 2016 clean sheet record (5).

5- Five different players have already scored a goal for SAFC this season (Castillo, Elizondo, Forbes, Reed, Tyrpak) after only four matches. In 2016, 14 different players got their name on the scoresheet in 30 matches during the club’s inaugural campaign.

7- San Antonio FC midfielder Rafa Castillo is currently the club’s all-time leading scorer with seven goals. Castillo has scored twice so far this season, and finished the 2016 season with five goals.

8- The Alamo City club’s +8 goal differential (nine scored, one conceded) is currently the best in the USL. The next-highest goal differential in the Western Conference is +4.

9- The club’s nine goals are currently tied for second-most in the league, and rank second in the Western Conference behind Real Monarchs SLC (10).

10- San Antonio FC leads the USL in conversion rate (33 percent), and leads the second-highest ranking club, Charleston Battery, by 10 percent.

San Antonio FC will now embark on a three-match road trip to the Pacific Northwest, where it will face Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2, Seattle Sounders FC 2, and Portland Timbers 2 in the span of six days. With its current record and run of good form, the Alamo City club put itself in a good position to take on the challenge away from home.
